A formal, officially-recognised assessment to diagnose dyslexia, with verbal feedback and a concise written report.

Get a full diagnostic assessment and find out if you’re entitled to special allowances in exams, the classroom, or the workplace.

  • Comprehensive
  • Hassle-free (and pain-free!)
  • Recognised by schools* and employers

*Some schools will only accept the findings of dyslexia assessments that they carry out themselves. A private dyslexia assessment carried out by someone well-qualified and experienced is identical and usually more in depth and there is no reason for the findings to be rejected. However, for peace of mind, you are advised to check with the school first.

What it involves

In-Depth Dyslexia AssessmentAn In-Depth Dyslexia Assessment consists of half a day of testing, but the tests can be carried out over a series of sessions if you’d prefer. (This is helpful for younger children with a shorter attention span, or adults with demanding schedules.)

The Assessment always includes an underlying ability test, reading tests, spelling tests, rapid naming tests, phonological processing tests, short-term and working memory tests, as a minimum. All of this helps to build up a clear picture of your (or your child’s) strengths and weaknesses.

Following the Assessment, you’ll receive a 10–15 page written report detailing the findings of the Assessment, along with tailored recommendations for learning support.

The Assessment can be carried out in your home, at Holly’s Kenilworth residence, or wherever is convenient to you (e.g. a school or workplace).

Holly operates across Warwickshire and the Midlands, primarily south of Birmingham, including Coventry, Warwick, Leamington Spa, Rugby, Stratford, Solihull, and Redditch.

In certain circumstances, Holly is also able to travel further afield. Get in touch to find out if she is able to come to you.

An In-Depth Dyslexia Assessment costs £549.

Need a PATOSS-approved report?

In most cases, the report that accompanies the In-Depth Dyslexia Assessment is more than sufficient. However, in rare cases, a 50-page, PATOSS-approved Full Dyslexia Report may be needed (e.g. if applying for Disabled Students Allowance).

Need further guidance?

Following the tests of an In-Depth Dyslexia Assessment, Holly can use the findings to create a tailored plan of action for your child’s learning.

This will give you a sense of what you can do to help your child, which areas of their learning need particular focus, and which specialists could be of assistance. Find out more on the Further Guidance page.
